My meal alert didn't fire
Work through these in order.
1. Check the meal has a future time
An alert needs both of these, or nothing is set:
- the Alert me at meal time switch is on
- the meal has a time that had not passed when you saved
A meal time on its own never creates an alert. Neither does the switch without a time.
Meals with an alert show Alert · {time} on their card. No Alert line means no alert was set.
2. Check notifications are allowed
Your phone controls whether MesoMetric can send notifications.
On Android, MesoMetric asks at first launch. If it was declined, no alert has ever been delivered.
On iPhone, MesoMetric asks the first time you set an alert. If it was declined, it does not ask again.
On iPhone, opening MesoMetric after allowing notifications sets up future alerts. The meals do not need to be re-entered.
3. On Android, check the meal channel
MesoMetric uses two separate notification channels: one for rest timer alerts, one for meal alerts.
Muting the meal channel in your phone's settings silences meal alerts, while MesoMetric still shows them as on.
If the rest timer works but meal alerts do not, check Settings → Apps → MesoMetric → Notifications.
4. On Android, check alarm timing access
MesoMetric requests Alarms & reminders access so alerts arrive on time.
Declining does not switch the alerts off. They may arrive late.
Find it in Settings → Apps → Special app access → Alarms & reminders.
5. On iPhone, check Focus and Silent Mode
A Focus mode or Do Not Disturb can withhold a notification. Check whether a Focus was on at the meal time, and whether MesoMetric is allowed through it.
A copied or imported meal has no alert
Two actions produce a meal with no alert:
- Copying meals to another day never copies the alert
- Importing meals never sets alerts
Edit the meal and turn the alert on.
The alert will not stop (Android)
Android meal alerts repeat about once a minute until stopped.
Stop Reminder is a button on the notification itself, not in the app. There is no stop control in MesoMetric's screens.
Pull down your notification shade and tap Stop Reminder.
