I can't add or see a photo
Three separate problems produce this result.
I can't add a photo at all
MesoMetric requires permission to use the camera or your photo library.
If the permission was denied permanently, MesoMetric cannot ask again. Turn it on in your phone's Settings app.
Until the permission is granted:
- Camera denied — attach a photo from your library.
- Library denied — use the camera.
- Both denied — save the check-in without a photo. The weight and notes still save.
A photo says "Photo unavailable"
The picture file was removed from your phone.
The date, the weight, the notes, and any equipment details remain. Only the image file is gone.
This usually happens when a photo is deleted outside MesoMetric. It also happens when a phone is set up fresh and only the app's data transferred.
It cannot be recovered from inside the app. If a backup .zip exists from before, the original file is in its photos/ folder.
My photos didn't come back after restoring
Restore returns all your records. It does not put your photo files back into the app.
The image files are inside the backup .zip, in its photos/ folder. A manifest names the record each one belongs to.
Keep that .zip. It is the only copy of your photo files. Restoring does not consume it.
My photos weren't in my backup
Check which export was used.
Back up my data includes the image files.
Data Export (No Image Files) does not. It carries references only.
