How to understand your cardio numbers

The Cardio Engine card on the Command Center shows two numbers. They are counted separately and never converted into each other.

The two numbers

// CARDIO on the left shows your cardio minutes for today.

// STEPS on the right shows your cardio steps for today, against your daily target.

Both include cardio logged on its own and cardio logged inside a workout.

These are not your phone's steps

MesoMetric counts steps only from cardio you logged in the app.

It is not your all-day step count. It does not read Apple Health, Google Fit, or your phone's own step widget. It will not match them.

If your phone shows 9,000 steps and MesoMetric shows 2,500, your phone counted your whole day and MesoMetric counted your treadmill walk.

The two buttons

⏱️ SELECT EXERCISE opens the cardio machine list. Picking one opens the Cardio Session screen.

⚡ LIVE TRACKER opens live step counting with Treadmill already selected.

Neither one starts a workout. Both log cardio on its own.

RESET changes the displayed count only

RESET appears at the top right, once today's steps are above zero.

Saved sessions stay in History.

Confirming restarts the displayed step count from that moment, for today only. The label changes to SINCE RESET.

RESET does not change:

  • your minutes — the left column is unaffected
  • your daily step target
  • anything in History
  • any saved cardio session
  • anything in an export

Nothing is deleted. The reset clears overnight and the next day shows a full count.

Change your step target

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Find DAILY STEP TARGET.
  3. Enter your number.
  4. Tap outside the box.

There is no Save button. The number saves when you tap away.

The target starts at 10,000 and must be between 1,000 and 100,000. A number outside that range is pulled to the nearest limit:

Allowed range is 1,000–100,000.

Left blank, the previous target stays.

Nothing happens when you hit your target

The target changes the / {number} on the gauge. Nothing else changes.

There is no alert, no notification, and no celebration.
