How cardio works in MesoMetric
Cardio means walking on a treadmill, riding a bike, or using a rowing machine.
Cardio can be saved in two ways.
Cardio on its own
A treadmill walk, bike ride, or row logged on its own is a cardio session.
It does not belong to any workout. It starts from the Command Center.
Cardio inside a workout
Cardio logged during a workout is added to that workout like any other exercise.
Where each one shows up
Both are saved and both count toward your cardio for the day. They differ in where they appear:
- A cardio session appears on its own in History.
- Cardio inside a workout appears in that workout.
A cardio session can be started while a workout is open.
Manual entry and live step counting
Most cardio is entered manually. Enter the duration, distance, speed, and any other value the machine shows.
On a treadmill, MesoMetric can count your steps. Start this with ⚡ LIVE TRACKER.
Step counting works on the treadmill only. Every other machine is entered manually.
This includes the Stair Climber. It has a steps box, but MesoMetric does not count steps there.
About the step number
MesoMetric counts steps only while a cardio session is running.
It is not an all-day step counter. It stops counting when the session ends. It does not read Apple Health or Google Fit.
The MesoMetric step number will not match your phone's own count.
Machines you can save
Each of these has its own set of boxes:
- Treadmill
- Stationary Bike
- Rowing Machine
- Elliptical
- Stair Climber
A machine not on the list can also be saved. MesoMetric provides a duration box for it.
