How to log cardio inside a workout

Cardio can be logged inside a workout instead of as a separate session.

Add cardio to your workout

  1. In your active workout, add the machine as an exercise.
  2. Enter what you did.
  3. Tap Log Activity.

Time the activity

The Activity timer counts up while you work.

ButtonWhat it does
StartBegins timing
Pause and ResumeStops and restarts the clock
StopEnds it and writes the minutes into Duration
CancelClears the timer and leaves Duration alone

Stop keeps the measured time. Cancel discards it.

The duration can also be entered manually.

Enter what the machine shows

The boxes change with the machine. A treadmill has speed, incline, distance, and steps. A stair climber has level.

Time of day is optional. Tap A.M. or P.M.. Tap again to clear it.

At least one number is required

Cardio will not save empty:

Add a cardio value
Enter at least one metric — duration, distance, speed, incline, steps, or level — before saving. Time of day or notes alone aren't enough.

Live step counting

On Android, on a treadmill only, you may see a LIVE TRACKER / MANUAL ENTRY switch.

LIVE TRACKER counts your steps and duration while you walk. Tap START CARDIO SESSION to begin, then Stop & Log to finish. Discard deletes the session.

In live mode the notes box and the manual save button are hidden. Switch to MANUAL ENTRY to show them.

How to use live step tracking on Android

The stair climber does not count steps for you

The stair climber has a Steps box but no live option.

Enter your steps from the machine's own display. Live counting is available on the treadmill only.

If live tracking will not start

You may see one of these:

Activity permission is needed to count steps. Enter steps manually, or enable it in Settings.
Step tracking isn't available on this device — enter steps manually below.
Couldn't start step tracking. Enter steps manually below.

In every case, switch to MANUAL ENTRY and enter your numbers. Cardio can always be logged manually.
