How to fix wrong barcode macros

The macros on a scanned food can be corrected. The correction is saved and reused.

Why the numbers can be wrong

Barcode results come from Open Food Facts, a free food list that anyone can add to.

Entries are not checked before publication. Some are wrong, out of date, or for a different size of the same product. Check the numbers against the product label.

Correct the numbers

  1. Scan the barcode.
  2. Tap Edit / Correct.
  3. Enter the correct numbers from the label.
  4. Save.

MesoMetric marks the food · edited.

Your numbers are used for that barcode from then on. Scanning the same product returns the corrected version.

Corrections stay on your phone

MesoMetric does not send corrections back to Open Food Facts.

A correction applies to that barcode on this phone only.

Corrections are backed up

Corrected foods are included in a backup.

Uncorrected barcode results are not backed up. MesoMetric can fetch them again.

A restore returns your corrections.
