How to create and manage custom exercises

MesoMetric includes a built-in exercise list. Your own exercises can be added and edited.

Edit an exercise

  1. In your active workout, tap on the exercise card.
  2. Tap Edit exercise.
  3. Change what you need.
  4. Tap the save button.

The editable fields are Name, Category, Manufacturer, Model, and Notes.

Save stays off until the exercise has both a name and a category.

The save button changes

The button label states what will happen.

A built-in exercise, or the name was changedSave as NewA new exercise, swapped into this workout. The original is unchanged

The screen states this below the button.

Built-in exercises can never be changed. Editing one creates a new exercise instead.

Renaming a custom exercise creates a second exercise. To edit in place, change the category or the notes and leave the name unchanged.

Delete a custom exercise

An exercise you created can be deleted only when nothing is using it.

One of three responses appears.

It is built in:

Built-in exercises can't be deleted.

Something still uses it:

Exercise is in use

MesoMetric lists the workouts, routines, and photos still using it. Remove it from those, then delete it.

It is free to go:

"{name}" will be permanently removed from your library. This can't be undone.

Deleting is permanent

There is no undo and no archive for exercises.

Foods behaves differently: a deleted food is archived and old meals keep their records. A deleted exercise is removed permanently.

An exercise left in place has no effect on your training records.
