How meals and foods work together
MesoMetric keeps food in two places.
Macros means protein, carbs, and fat.
Meals is the daily list
Meals records what you ate. Each day has its own page. MesoMetric adds up your totals as you go.
Foods is the saved list
Foods is a saved list of items you eat often, such as a protein powder or a brand of bread.
Saving a food does not mean you ate it. Nothing in Foods counts toward your daily totals.
The Foods screen states:
What a saved food does
A saved food can be added to a meal. Its numbers are added with it.
For a one-off item, enter the numbers directly into the meal.
How the two connect
Two buttons read from the saved list while you add a meal:
- + Add from Foods — adds a food you already saved
- Scan to Foods — scans a barcode, saves it, and adds it
Foods added this way carry their own numbers. Enter how many servings you ate.
