How to delete or restore a food

Deleting a food removes it from your Foods list. Meals you already logged are not changed.

Delete a food

  1. Open Foods.
  2. Tap the food.
  3. Tap Delete Item.
  4. Confirm.

MesoMetric shows this before deleting:

This removes the item from your Foods. Historical meals keep their records — nothing is destroyed.

Delete Item appears only when editing an existing food.

Logged meals keep their food

Deleting a food removes it from the Foods list and from search results. Every meal already logged keeps its record, with the same name and the same macros.

History and totals do not change.

Bring a food back

Scan its barcode again. MesoMetric shows:

Archived item exists
"{name}" owns this barcode but is archived. Restore it?

Tap Restore. The food returns as it was, with its history.

Scanning from inside a meal asks whether to restore the food and add it to that meal.

If you see Restore failed, nothing changed. Try again.

If the food was never deleted

Scanning a barcode already in your list shows:

Already in Foods
Reused "{name}". Nothing logged.

The food is already in your list. MesoMetric does not create a duplicate and does not log anything.
